As an Imaging Specialist IV / Multi-Modality Specialist
, you will perform advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures that help physicians diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions while working alongside a collaborative team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals in a patient-centered environment.
- Perform a variety of cardiac diagnostic procedures, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, Dobutamine stress tests, and EKG support.
- Assess patient history, select appropriate imaging protocols, and produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy, accurately document findings, and maintain quality assurance standards.
- Prepare, educate, and safely assist patients before, during, and after procedures while following infection prevention and patient safety practices.
- Maintain cardiac ultrasound equipment and work areas, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support efficient department operations.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide outstanding patient care while participating in continuing education and maintaining professional competencies.
Education
- Bachelor's degree from a program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), or
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a certificate or associate degree and two (2) years of professional radiologic experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and qualifying experience may be considered in accordance with State of Hawaii substitution provisions.
Experience Imaging Specialist IV- One and one-half (1½) years of professional imaging technologist experience.
- One (1) year of specialized experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations with demonstrated knowledge of ultrasound equipment, ultrasound physics, medical terminology, and departmental protocols.
- One and one-half (1½) years of professional imaging technologist experience.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible specialty imaging experience, including at least one (1) year in each of two or more imaging modalities (such as echocardiography, CT, MRI, angiography, cardiac catheterization, mammography, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, ultrasound, or vascular imaging).
- Current ARDMS (RDMS) or ARRT (Sonography) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- Additional qualifying specialized experience may be substituted for the general imaging experience requirement on a year-for-year basis, in accordance with State of Hawaii qualification standards.
