Overview

Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) – Ultrasound Tech, Hilo, Hawaii.

Start date:

10/26/2026. Contract duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,161 per week to $2,278 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: Rotating. Setting:
Hospital travel assignment.

  • Floating to other units/departments as needed;
    No RTO in first 13 weeks
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations of the abdomen, including evaluation of the Aorta, IVC, liver/biliary system, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys, in both normal and pathologic states
  • Conduct gynecologic imaging (breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis) and obstetric imaging (1st–3rd trimester), including amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, and IUGR assessment
  • Perform interventional procedures as needed, including aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative ultrasound
  • Neonatal imaging (head) for congenital anomalies and imaging of superficial structures (breast, thyroid, scrotum) as well as vascular studies (carotid duplex, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
  • Operate ultrasound equipment (Canon i700) and document findings in the EMR (Meditech) with image storage in the PACS (Fuji Synapse); ensure image quality and patient safety
  • Collaborate with radiology and other clinical teams; float to other units/departments as required
Requirements
  • ARDMS certification (AB, OB, RVT)
  • Active BLS – American Heart Association
  • Minimum 3 years of acute hospital experience as a full-time sonographer
  • Ability to float to other units/departments as needed
  • Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health appointment
