Job Summary
Under close supervision, performs as an entry‑level trainee and receives orientation and training in information systems analysis, principles, and techniques; information technology systems uses, limitations, and operating requirements; programming;
County‑wide information systems;
County organizations and functions, and basic workflow patterns. Performs other related duties as required.
Immediate permanent full‑time vacancy with the Department of Water Supply – Administration Division in Hilo.
Responsibilities- Attends orientation and training sessions.
- Learn fundamentals of information systems analysis work.
- Might observe higher‑level analysts at interviews and meetings.
- Performs simple tasks to develop knowledge and skill.
- Assists with routine preparation and modification of systems and user documentation.
- Compiles data, searches records, reviews and drafts systems flow charts and minor revisions for the procedures manual.
- Supports higher‑level analysts with research and data compilation for projects.
- Provides basic IT technical support, including backups, installation, and routine maintenance.
- May perform simple computer programming tasks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Official college transcript must be submitted.
License/Certificate RequirementsValid State of Hawai`i driver’s license (Class 3) or equivalent at hiring. A copy must be provided.
Other RequirementsForeign transcripts require an official credential evaluation report.
All qualifying applicants receive a base score of 70 points and undergo education/experience evaluation.
