DESCRIPTION:

The H FU EMERGENCY PLANNING & PREPAREDNESS Department of the P EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & RESPONSE Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 management vacancy available. (Role: Professional)

JOB FUNCTION:

Works under the direction of the Manager, EPP as the onsite Subject Matter Expert for emergency management and incident response. Leads IMT efforts as the on-site Incident Advisor. Manages the development, planning, and execution of the Company's Emergency Planning and Preparedness (EPP) policies and plans, including the Electrical Service Restoration Plan (ESRP) and Emergency Action Plans for their assigned location ensuring alignment across the Company.

Drives collaborative team efforts to assess and address risks of the Company's emergency management plans. Drives work prioritzation efforts and manages assigned work plan and implementation across all areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Manages the functions and activities of the EPP programs and IMT working group across the company ensuring all programs are maintained, metrics developed and recorded and reported as necessary.

* Identifies and implements best practices and procedures for program maintenance; develops justification for projects supporting department programs including program budget planning & forecasting requirements. Supports real-world emergencies, serves as Incident Advisor to lead and support the Incident Management Teams.

* Develops short term goals for department and manages the respective projects and processes in support of both short and long-term Company goals. Sets priorities, drives process improvement, and develops strategies and implementation plans to strengthen the organization's emergency response infrastructure and program. Leads collaboration effort with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across the Company. Resolves challenging and complex issues and escalates when necessary.

* Drives the Company's incident management response capabilities through a comprehensive training program that is enhanced with planning, drills, and exercises, incorporating industry best practices and lessons learned.

* Delivers National Incident Management (NIMS) training as it relates to ESRP. Achieves measurable results in the training to response team members, and field and support staff as required.

* Directs and coordinates with all sections to develop and schedule tabletops exercises and drills. Serves as point of contact for various internal and external stakeholders who are participating in the exercises and drills. Ensures post-training follow up actions and tasks are completed and implemented.

* Manages the Learning Management System (LMS) and Enable Now in collaboration with Company stakeholders to optimize the learning experience, set up and assign courses, and maintaining and tracking training records.

* Initiates and maintains liaisons with government agencies and emergency management stakeholders at the local, state, and Federal level, including electrical utility industry professionals, to facilitate emergency response plan development, coordination and execution.
