Senior Construction Operations Manager

The Senior Operations Manager is a hands-on construction leader, with deep mechanical systems experience, a strong background in commercial construction, and demonstrated ability to lead teams and oversee multi-project performance.

A well-established, Hawaii-based mechanical construction firm is seeking a senior-level operations leader to oversee project delivery across a portfolio of complex commercial projects on Oahu. This role is responsible for guiding multiple project teams, ensuring consistent execution, and driving strong financial and client outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a blend of field expertise, operational leadership, and business acumen to support high-quality project delivery across the islands.

• Oversee and support multiple Project Managers and project teams across active jobs
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards
• Provide leadership on project forecasting, budgeting, and cost control
• Guide teams on contracts, change orders, and client expectations
• Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues when needed
• Collaborate with internal leaders and clients to align on project execution
• Support procurement of major equipment, materials, and subcontractors
• Conduct site visits to monitor real-time project progress and performance
• Mentor and develop Project Managers to strengthen team performance

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of construction project delivery and operations
• Experience with financial oversight (forecasting, cost control, budgeting)
• Solid understanding of contracts, change orders, and risk management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

• Extensive experience in construction, with a focus on mechanical or MEP projects
• Proven track record managing multiple projects or leading project teams
• Experience overseeing Project Managers or similar leadership roles
• Strong understanding of construction methods, processes, and regulations
• Familiarity with financial management of projects (P&L, forecasting, cost control)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
