Summary Of DutiesUnder the supervision of the Chief Program Officer, the Director of East Hawaii Programs provides oversight and leadership for all programs in his/her designated geographic area. Plans, organizes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates services. Represents CFS in the community. Acts as a liaison between the neighbor island and the organization. May oversee multiple geographical sites. Participate in the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
Directs and coordinates the development and oversees the implementation of program policies/procedures. Overseas and coordinates the operations and improvement activities of each assigned Program Area.
Manages projects, prioritizes conflicting requirements and coordinates actions across program functions. Represents the organization in external activities as directed by executive management. Evaluates and assesses the skills and performance levels of assigned personnel. Coaches and mentors as appropriate. Make decisions on resource allocation up to the limits specified in the organization's directives. Oversee budgets in each program and aggressively work to improve problems.
Develop plans and seeks funding for deficit programs as well as funding for innovative programming. Attends CFS Board of Directors meetings, Core Leadership meetings, and Combined Leadership Team meetings. West Hawaii and East Hawaii only: provide clinical supervision to DV Specialists in regard to group facilitation. West Hawaii only:
Provides clinical supervision and oversight to clinical staff for the Behavioral Health programs, support to Resource Home families as needed, and provide on-call coverage.
- Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type
- Master's Degree in the Human Services area
- Clinical License is strongly preferred-
- Certification in Substance Abuse (CSAC)
- Over four years, up to and including six years
Other:
- Five years' post master's supervisory and administrative experience in community and service agencies
- Experience with domestic violence, substance abuse, child abuse and neglect.
- Ability and organization to manage multiple contracts, large number of employees, and/or complex budgets.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team building skills.
- Strong communication and writing skills. Experience writing RFP's and Grants required.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Knowledge of the Department of Health's Child and Adolescent Mental Health's (CAMHD) Performance Standards and Best Practices preferred
Position Requirements
- This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
- The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- This position is subject to a criminal background investigation, and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions
