Position DetailsLocation: Island of Oahu
Salary: $4,054 per month
Position OverviewThis full‑time permanent position is within the Counting Center Operations Branch, responsible for managing the operation of each counting center statewide, including processing and tabulating ballots, disseminating election results, recruiting, training, assigning, and compensating counting center workers, procuring, storing, distributing, and inventorying equipment and supplies, and providing administrative support.
Citizenship RequirementThe State of Hawaii requires that all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
KnowledgeMethods and techniques of preparing informational and educational materials and instruction; public speaking; report writing; and Microsoft Office and Excel.
Skills and AbilitiesLearn, understand, and explain voting and election processes; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; comprehend, interpret, and apply laws, rules, procedures, and policies; handle confidential materials; work in a highly fluid environment and maintain effective relationships with others; and work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
Education and ExperienceHigh school graduation or equivalent; two years of work experience involving tasks demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic; ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, procedures, and policies; speak and write simply and directly; variety of clerical tasks and operations of various office equipment and a computer.
Employment TypeThis position is exempt from the civil service and considered temporary in nature. Appointments are at will.
