Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care position in Hawaii with HI RN license and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a Progressive Care Unit with 15 beds: 3 step down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Patient ratio is 1:4 in Progressive Care and 1:3 in step down ICU
- Varied shifts with 36 hours per week following initial orientation week
- Primary patient population includes cardiac progressive care and telemetry cases
- Duties include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks
- Uses Meditech charting system, Pyxis for medications, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to all acute units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start
- Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start for pre-assignment screening
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Scrubs are the required dress code
- Week of orientation provided prior to shift schedule
- Active State of HI RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year of hospital acute care within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry unit experience preferred
- BLS/BCLS certification required
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Experience with Meditech charting system and telemetry equipment preferred
