Job Description: RN – Flex Pool (Nights)
Job Type: Contract Position Urgency: Normal Specialty: Nursing Sub‑Specialties: Med‑Surg Adult, Step‑Down
OverviewThis contract RN position requires a flexible and experienced nurse capable of floating between multiple medical and surgical units. Candidates without an active Hawaii RN license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance and must hold the license by the start of the assignment.
Medical and religious exemption requests are not accepted in place of documented proof of immunity.
Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality nursing care while floating between various medical and surgical units.
- Perform procedures and patient care tasks consistent with Med‑Surg and Step‑Down standards.
- Utilize unit equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Adapt to varying patient ratios and unit needs based on staffing and census.
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 12‑hour shifts (1845–0715)
- Weekly Schedule: 36 hours per week after orientation
- Note: Hours are not guaranteed.
RNs will float between:
- Medical Unit
- Surgical Acute Unit
- Cardiovascular Unit (rare occasions)

Required Experience & Skills- Experience: 2–10 years of nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple units
Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
Preferred:
- PALS
- Procedural Sedation
- TNCC
- ENPC
- Professional nursing attire
- Clean scrubs required
- Orientation time provided for each assigned unit
- Must arrive the Thursday prior to the assignment start to attend employee health on Friday
