We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) assignment in Hawaii. This is a 13-week contract opportunity for nurses who are adaptable, clinically strong, and comfortable working with adult med-surg patients transitioning from acute care.

• Active State of Hawaii RN License required by start of assignment
• Travelers without an active Hawaii license must apply upon offer acceptance
• BLS (BCLS) certification required
• ACLS not required for this unit (unless required by agency policy)

• 13-week contract
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
• Varied shifts (to be determined)
• Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days
• No guarantee of hours or shift preference
• Holiday coverage required
• Must arrive the Thursday prior to start date to attend employee health appointment on Friday

• 32-bed Transitional Care Unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:
  • Days: 1:8 RN with 1:6 Aides
  • Nights: 1:8 RN

• EMR: EPIC
• Medication dispensing system (Pyxis)
• Wound vac
• Chest tubes
• Tube feeding
• NG/G-Tubes
• Trach care
• PICC/PORT lines

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (2–10 years preferred)
• Strong background in adult med-surg and transitional care settings

• May be required to float to Med-Surg and Surgical Pediatrics units

• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start
• Flu vaccination may be administered during employee health clearance appointment

• Professional nursing attire

• Department-specific orientation provided
