The Registered Nurse is responsible for independently administering a variety of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections in accordance with the provider’s order. The role includes accessing port‑a‑caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters, performing venipuncture, PICC and Hickman dressings, and conducting labs via ports. The RN provides clinical care to all assigned patients, maintains accurate, concise, and complete records of patient condition, treatment, medications, and responses, and monitors all intravenous therapies.

The RN notifies the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of unusual occurrences and initiates appropriate emergency action when required. The position includes education for patients, families, and caregivers regarding medications and treatments, expected responses, side effects, disease process, nutrition, activity, and physical adjustments. The RN verifies informed consent prior to chemotherapy administration, demonstrates proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs and uses appropriate PPE.

The RN maintains a safe environment, complies with policies and procedures, is proficient in Epic EMR, and performs other related duties as assigned. Bed size: 18 semi‑private bays.
