Pay Rate: $45/hr - $50/hr
Shift: Varied shifts
Schedule: 36 hours/week after first week of orientation; no call
Guaranteed Hours: No guarantee
Experience: Minimum 2 years nursing experience required
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care for a progressive care/telemetry opportunity in Hilo, Hawaii. This role is ideal for an RN with strong acute care, telemetry, and step-down experience who can provide safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care for Progressive Care and Step-Down ICU patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips
- Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks and patient assessments
- Support continuous cardiac monitoring and respiratory support needs
- Administer medications and follow unit protocols
- Monitor patient condition and respond to clinical changes appropriately
- Float to acute care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required by assignment start
- Hawaii license application required upon offer acceptance if not already active
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience required
- At least 1 year recent hospital acute care experience required
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS preferred
- PALS preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Must be flexible to float to other acute units
- Must arrive the Thursday before start for employee health appointment
- Holiday coverage required as needed
