Position: RN Behavioral Health (Psychiatric Adult)-5

Job Title: RN Behavioral Health (Psychiatric Adult)

As an RN Behavioral Health (Psychiatric Adult), you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to adult patients with psychiatric disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans to promote mental health and wellness in patients.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status.
  • Develop and implement care plans based on assessment findings and patients' individual needs.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual counseling and group therapy.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families about psychiatric disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Respond to emergent situations and provide crisis intervention when needed.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice in psychiatric settings.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and psychotropic medications.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
