American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Hawaii requiring an active HI RN license and at least 2 years of med/surg experience

• Work in the Medical unit of a hospital environment with 50 beds
• Adult patient population (18 and over) requiring med/surg level care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, and other standard med/surg equipment
• May float to Surgical Peds or Transitional Care units
• 15-week contract scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
• Day or night shift availability with variable shift lengths and days required
• No guarantee of specific hours or shift preference

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment (candidates without an active license must apply upon acceptance of offer)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience required

• Provide med/surg level nursing care to adult patients, including wound vac and chest tube management
• Department-specific training and orientation included during the first week
• Professional nursing attire required with closed toe shoes; no specific scrub color requirements
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the start of the assignment, with appointments scheduled in Hilo
• Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
• No holiday RTO requests permitted during this assignment
