Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med-Surg/Step Down Flex Pool position in Hawaii, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active HI RN license.

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without a current license may apply upon acceptance of offer
• 2-10 years of Med-Surg/Step Down nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
• Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted

Responsibilities

• Flex RN role floating between various medical and surgical units within a hospital setting
• Primary floating units include Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
• Patient ratios:
  Medical Unit 1:6 (days/eves) and 1:8 (nights), Laulima 1:6, Cardiovascular Unit 1:4, subject to change due to unexpected leaves
• 12-hour night shifts )
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• No guarantee of hours
• Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• Float between multiple medical and surgical units based on facility needs
• Unit-specific orientation and training provided for each area
• Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs required
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the start of the assignment, with scheduling coordinated in advance
• Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to attend Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
