Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse - 13-Week Contract
Schedule
Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit. The unit comprises a 15-bed capacity, with a focus on telemetry and step-down ICU care. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care and telemetry monitoring for patients in various stages of recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
- Monitor telemetry readings and interpret telemetry strips effectively.
- Conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests as required.
- Utilize Meditech charting and Pyxis for medication administration.
- Manage BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Float to all acute care units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as necessary.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
- Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry preferred.
- Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by the start of the assignment.
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
- NIHSS certification preferred.
