Position: Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Overview

Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER) in a fast-paced, 28-bed ED with 4 trauma bays, 2 behavioral health rooms, and 22 cardiac monitor rooms.

Location:

Hilo, Hawaii.

Start date:

10/12/2026. Assignment duration: 13 contract weeks. Weekly pay: $1,781–$1,956 per week. Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts. This is a travel - temporary assignment with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct patient care in a busy ER, including assessment, monitoring, and stabilization of acutely ill or injured patients
  • Triage incoming patients, prioritize care, and coordinate rapid response for trauma and critical events
  • Administer medications, start IVs, perform basic procedures, and monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry as needed
  • Collaborate with the ED team, including trauma, behavioral health, and other services, to ensure efficient patient flow and safe handoffs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record; ensure patient safety, infection control, and quality standards
  • Support a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with professionalism and clear communication
Requirements
  • Active Hawaii RN license (must be in-hand by start of assignment)
  • ER nursing experience in a hospital/acute care setting preferred
  • Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour shifts (3×12-hour schedule)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ED with rapid patient turnover and multi-disciplinary teamwork
  • Must arrive the Thursday prior to start date to complete employee health requirements
