09/14/2026 - Unit/setting:
Post-anesthesia care (PACU/ASU) in a hospital - Onboarding note: must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health clearance
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients in PACU, including Phase I and Phase II recovery, with focus on airway, breathing, circulation, and recovery milestones
- Monitor vital signs, incision sites, body temperature, and overall stability; identify and respond to potential complications; coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams
- Manage medications and analgesia per protocol; support patient comfort and safety during the immediate postoperative period
- Utilize unit equipment and systems (Meditech, PCA pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair Paws warmers, HP/Phillips monitors) and document care accurately in the patient record
- Assess readiness for discharge to Phase II or transfer to an appropriate unit; communicate clear handoff information to receiving teams
- Active Hawaii RN license in good standing;
Hawaii license required by start date - BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association;
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended and may be required for some travelers - 2+ years of critical care RN experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting; may substitute for PACU experience in some cases
- PACU/ASU experience preferred; ability to work in a rotating schedule and meet on-call expectations
- Flu vaccination proof or facility-approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start date
- Education:
current RN licensure; nursing qualification appropriate to practice
- Assignment coordination and travel support through Healthforce Healthcare LLC
- Dedicated recruiter and travel support throughout the assignment
- Onboarding and credentialing assistance, including health clearance and vaccination tracking
- Defined 13-week term with potential for extension based on unit needs and performance
