Job Summary
Store Manager In Training (SMIT) is a development focused role designed to prepare candidates for a CVS Store Manager position. The program is a 16‑week self‑paced, collaborative training that includes virtual and hands‑on learning experiences. Participants work with a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach to develop leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
- Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support progress toward promotion.
- Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the designated market.
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- Performance and availability of openings will determine promotion to Store Manager.

Pay range: $18.50 – $28.67 per hour (base hourly rate)
