Lead Associate Bayfront (Hilo-Big Island) Store $18.00-$18.50/hr (doe), Full Time, quarterly bonus up to $100, Sign on bonus up to $1,000* (doe)

Primary Purpose
  • Provide quality customer service by ensuring prompt, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Perform cashiering, housekeeping, and stocking duties.
  • Balance cash and make deposits for a particular day(s) in the absence of the Store Manager.
Essential Duties and Functions
  • In the absence of the Store Manager, provide minimal supervision of Sales Associates and assign duties for particular shift(s).
  • Ensure the store operates according to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist the Store Manager in processing daily paperwork and bank deposit procedures.
  • Provide quality customer service by greeting each customer promptly and timely.
  • Perform cashiering duties according to the Aloha Island Mart (AIM) Cash Policy.
  • Follow Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) policies and procedures.
  • Check in new merchandise in a timely manner.
  • Perform stocking and pricing duties.
  • Maintain a clean store environment by performing housekeeping duties.
Daily Duties
  • Provide quality customer service by greeting each customer promptly and timely.
  • Perform cashiering duties according to the AIM policy.
  • Follow security and safety policies and procedures.
Periodic Duties
  • Assist in processing daily paperwork.
  • Assist in conducting inventory, placing orders, and processing merchandise received.
  • Attend monthly store meetings.
Occasional Duties
  • Check in new merchandise in a timely manner.
  • Perform stocking and/or pricing duties in a timely manner.
  • Clean gasoline pumps as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Assist in covering other locations as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements Skills and Knowledge
  • Mathematical ability for proper cash handling.
  • Ability to provide prompt, friendly, and quality customer service.
  • Ability to perform stock/inventory duties.
Education and Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Sales Associate Training Class (BSAT).
  • On‑the‑job training provided by the Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • On‑the‑job computer training.
Experience
  • 1‑2 years experience in customer service.
  • 1‑2 years experience in cash handling.
  • 1‑2 years experience in supervision.
Work Hours

Employment status may vary:

  • Full‑time Regular (35+ hrs. / week)
  • Part‑time Regular (20+ hrs. / week)
  • Casual Employee (less than 20 hrs. / week)

• Sunday‑Saturday availability
• Flexible availability to work varied shifts (day, night, swing, or graveyard)
• Extended hours as assigned

Mental Demands
  • Continuously requires attention to detail, concentration, alertness, and mathematical skills.
Physical Demands
  • Continuous standing for extended periods, handling, fingering, and use of eye‑hand‑foot coordination; corrected vision required.
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. of merchandise cartons.
  • Occasional sitting, running, color vision use, or visiting/working at other sites.
Communication Demands
  • Continually talks to customers/clients and meets their requests.
  • Frequently talks to co‑workers and receives instructions.
  • Occasionally meets requests of co‑workers.
  • Regularly talks to outside trade persons/vendors, talks on the telephone, trains/gives instructions, and reads.
