As an Airport Law Enforcement Officer - Checkpoint Patrol in Honolulu, HI
, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and its facilities. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. Position Details

Position Type: Full Time - Morning

Pay Rate: $28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (NO EXCEPTIONS):

To be considered, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age

Basic Qualifications: The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required to be hired. These are the minimum requirements for successful performance in this role.

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications

Required:

Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs:

  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training
  • Federal law enforcement training
  • Programs approved by the Director
  • Each LEO will possess the following minimum qualifications:
    • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.

* A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.

Knowledge and

Skills Required:

  • Must be able to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.

  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in English.
  • Maintain courtesy in interactions with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
  • LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA.…
