Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for an Electronic Tech C - Alarms to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Hawai'i.
Under close supervision troubleshoots, repairs, inspects, overhauls, modifies, calibrates, installs, and operates fire alarm, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Access Control Systems.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES- Performs periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and/or OEM guidelines. Document results of all installation, maintenance and equipment records.
- Troubleshoots and repairs systems/equipment by reading and interpreting electronic/mechanical schematics and using simple and complex test equipment.
- Installs, checks, calibrates and performs acceptance tests on newly installed or relocated alarm and data systems and equipment.
- Works in a safe and efficient manner, following all applicable national and Navy protocols.
- Prepares and submits periodic reports.
- Maintains configuration control documentation on assigned systems.
- Performs other duties as required.
Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over 25-50 pounds (with a 2-person assist). Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, and crawling, kneeling or cramped work. The environment will include customer contact, extended workdays, in a confined work in an office laboratory area, field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.
REQUIREDDEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- High School or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of a two-year technical school or the equivalent training, such as Navy “A” school or recognized correspondence is required. (Technical schooling can be substituted for experience.)
- Have or be able to obtain CPR/AED/1st Aid
- Four (4) years of experience in a related field of assignment.
- Possess and demonstrate fundamental knowledge of basic electronics theory and computers, and be capable of interpreting schematics and understanding electrical and electronic symbols.
- Must be able to perform all tasks in accordance with verbal and written instructions to the established standards.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner, following all applicable national and Navy protocols.
- Must possess the following PC skills:
Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
