The Kamehameha Schools Maui campus is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our Campus Operations team. A strong background in the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems is highly preferred.

Job SummaryPerforms maintenance, repair, and modifications of campus plumbing systems, equipment, and machinery including water distribution systems, water mains, fire hydrants, irrigation systems, and well‑pumping and treatment stations as applicable. Works closely with internal teams to coordinate workflow and ensure efficient, high‑quality project completion.
Essential Responsibilities- Monitors water quality in accordance with Department of Health regulations.
- Provides plumbing hook‑ups as required for special events on and off campus.
- Repairs gas, compressed air, and sprinkler lines as required.
- Supports maintenance of equipment and systems to ensure safety standards and operational reliability.
- Performs maintenance and repair of plumbing and irrigation systems, fixtures, and pumps across the campus.
- Coordinates with internal team members to plan and execute plumbing‑related projects, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Reviews work order requirements and assists in planning tasks, estimating labor and materials, and identifying supplies needed for plumbing and irrigation work.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years Journeyman Plumber work experience.
- Current State Certified Journeyman Plumber License.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Available to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Frequently walks, stands, bends, crouches, reaches overhead, and performs fine motor tasks. Often requires lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds; occasional heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and at times working in cramped or awkward positions.
Working ConditionsMay involve traveling to various locations, including neighboring islands. Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non‑standard workplaces. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday during regular business hours; availability to work evenings, weekends, and respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis is required.
Compensation and BenefitsHourly Compensation: $34.77 – $47.21. The range is based on experience, skills, and other organizational needs.
