Position Overview
This role is for a warehouse delivery driver at Mattress Firm.
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Weekends mandatory
- Hourly pay: $23.00–$24.50 (depending on experience)
- Sign‑on bonus: $2,500
Warehouse environment; lift or move over 100 pounds; sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear frequently; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally; sight required for safety.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, receive, and provide documentation for deliveries or pickups to ensure timely service.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo.
- Operate a truck larger than 3 tons, transporting cargo to specified destinations.
- Obtain client and customer signatures for delivery acknowledgments.
- Provide exceptional customer service during product setup and removal.
- Maintain contact with router for delivery or pickup instructions.
- Follow delivery routes and time schedules.
- Maintain logs of travel and cargo per federal and state regulations.
- Perform daily vehicle inspection and routine maintenance of the vehicle and equipment.
- Complete all required training modules and certifications by due dates.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external contacts.
- Adhere to company policies, appearance standards, and brand representation.
- Report concerns or issues to leadership to ensure departmental and company efficiency.
- Assist in warehouse duties when necessary.
- Ensure safe and timely transfer of products between store locations.
- Assist store personnel with material movement.
- Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities.
- Contribute ideas to optimize or improve the team, department, and company.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1+ year related experience preferred.
Skills- Strong communication skills.
- Thoroughness and accuracy in task completion.
- Time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
- Familiarity with navigation systems.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (preferred).
- Satisfactory driving record.
- Valid driver’s license upon hire.
- Valid and updated medical certificate upon hire.
