Position: Recreation Aide (Concessions)

Seasonal Recreation Aides

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for seasonal Recreation Aides within the Recreation Department. Specifically, we are looking for Concession Stand Workers.

This position is responsible for completing duties regarding the Recreation Department's concession stands and sports programs.

Major duties include:

Greeting visitors to the facility.

Monitoring the gym and enforcing the rules.

Keeping game scores.

Maintaining a fully stocked concession stand by performing routine inventory and re-stocking duties.

Cooking and prepping foods.

Accepting customer orders and calculating prices. Collecting money and giving out correct change.

Counting startup money before opening concession stand and after it closes.

Performing basic cleaning duties including bathrooms.

Stocking and maintaining supply rooms.

Assisting with issuing sports equipment and uniforms to coaches.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge required by the position includes:

Knowledge of department safety rules and regulations.

Knowledge of the operations and functions of the Recreation and Parks Department.

Knowledge of county ordinances and department policies and procedures.

Knowledge of cleaning methods and practices.

Knowledge of how to cook and prep food.

Skill in mathematical calculations.

Skill in oral and written communication.

Skill in interpersonal relations.

Skill in customer service.

Skill in stocking.

Physical demands/work environment:

The work is typically performed at a desk while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, crouching, bending or stooping. The employee frequently and occasionally lifts light objects.
The work is typically performed in an office or in a stockroom.

Minimum qualifications:

Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Less than one (1) year of related experience required.
