NETWORK ENGINEER LEAD
XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to support Small Unit Training:
Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training:
Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training:
Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unified Land Operations (ULO).

The NETENG shall be the overall designer, developer, builder, and maintainer of the MTC’s simulation/stimulation data, voice, and video network infrastructure. Key duties and responsibilities include hardware (switch, router, firewall) configuration management. Additionally, the NETENG carries team leader responsibilities encompassing all contract provided network personnel to support all customer training requirements throughout their training event lifecycle.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT- Coordinates directly with Government ISSM and Network Architect, contractor ISSOs (System and Network) to ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained and documented for MTC information systems.
- Coordinates all aspects of the communications architecture and exercise network support plans with internal training branches, external MTC facilities, local NEC, and tactical units to ensure robust data, voice, and video services throughout exercise event lifecycle.
- Responsible for Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation for all security boundary network infrastructure.
- Attend all training exercise planning events to ensure customer’s network requirements are properly met and fully supported.
- Ensures vulnerability remediation across network infrastructure.
- Serves as site lead on Solar Winds management and tool usage for network performance and configuration management.
- Education:
BA/BS degree in Network management or related field - Experience:
8 years’ of networking experience. - Required Technical
Experience: - Advanced planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills on Cisco networking infrastructure: switches, routers, call manager, firewalls, etc.
- Mastery of network architecture and topology diagram interpretation and development.
- Familiarity with Tenable ACAS suite, remediation activities, and DISA STIG implementation processes.
- Diagnostic and adaptive abilities to solve complex technical problems associated with operating and maintaining a complex network in support of customer operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required to support customer requirements.
- Certification and Training Requirements:
- IAT-III baseline certification:
SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP - Computing Environment training to meet Residential Qualification requirements.
