Mechanic

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, brake systems, HVAC components, and other vehicle systems
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake jobs, and tire rotations
  • Respond to emergency roadside service calls to get disabled vehicles back up and running
  • Install, inspect, and repair electrical components
  • Fabricate or replace hydraulic hoses; perform welding and burning
  • Repair damaged metal parts, including grinding or chipping excess weld
  • Test-drive vehicles to identify issues and verify repairs
  • Complete accurate and timely work orders, documenting repairs, time, and parts
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized shop environment
What You Bring
  • 5 years of related experience as an automotive or fleet mechanic
  • High School Diploma or GED, plus 1 year of vocational training in automotive repair or related field
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and ability to meet driving standards
  • Ability to read technical manuals, interpret charts, and complete repair documents
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid understanding of tools, shop equipment, and safe operating practices

  • Basic math skills (percentages, measurements, calculations)
  • Good judgment when making repair, maintenance, and equipment decisions
  • Clear communication with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
  • Ability to collect and interpret data related to vehicle performance and diagnostics

You’ll work in a hands-on, active environment that may include:

  • Outdoor conditions with heat, cold, humidity, and varying light
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, vibration, and mechanical hazards
  • Standard safety risks associated with tools, machinery, electricity, and chemical handling

Safety is our top priority, and you’ll receive training and PPE to help you work confidently and safely.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently and exert 100+ lbs occasionally
  • Use of hands and tools for repairs and equipment operation
  • Normal hearing, vision, and depth perception required
  • Flexibility to work overtime or varied hours when needed
