Position Summary

The Warehouse Support Specialist provides technical, logistical, and inventory management support to the Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG) Warehouse and Army Equipment Recovery Distribution Site (ERDS). The position is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, tracking, redistributing, and disposing of military equipment and supplies while maintaining accountability through Army automated systems and established warehouse procedures. The Warehouse Support Specialist supports modernization initiatives, equipment fielding, excess property management, and warehouse reconfiguration efforts while ensuring compliance with Army regulations, safety standards, and property accountability requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, store, issue, and transfer government equipment and supplies within warehouse operations.
  • Conduct inventory management activities and maintain accurate property accountability records.
  • Perform equipment receipt, turn-in, redistribution, and divestiture activities in support of ERDS operations.
  • Utilize GCSS-Army, SEAM, and other authorized logistics systems to process inventory transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, and store equipment.
  • Record item locations, inventory transactions, and equipment disposition data in accordance with Army procedures.
  • Prepare reports, inventories, and documentation supporting warehouse management and property accountability.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and ensure equipment is routed correctly for fielding, transfer, redistribution, or disposal.
  • Assist in warehouse organization, storage optimization, and reconfiguration efforts to maximize available storage capacity.
  • Support equipment fielding and modernization initiatives associated with unit conversions and force structure changes.
  • Ensure compliance with Army Materiel Command, Sustainment Command, and local installation safety requirements.
  • Follow established procedures for handling hazardous materials and sensitive equipment when applicable.
  • Assist unit supply personnel with equipment turn-in actions and accountability processes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Comply with all installation security, access, operational security (OPSEC), and information assurance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and property accountability procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Army logistics processes and supply management practices.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment and materials in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet all required safety and training certifications.
  • Experience using GCSS-Army, SEAM, ISM, or similar Department of Defense logistics systems.
  • Prior military logistics, supply, transportation, or warehouse management experience.
Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, supply operations, logistics support, property accountability, or related military logistics functions.
