The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Hingham, MA. This role is responsible for processing vendor invoices, preparing and reconciling expense reports, and ensuring timely and accurate payments in accordance with school policies. Day-to-day tasks include verifying and coding invoices, entering transactions into the accounting system, assisting with journal entries related to accounts payable, and maintaining organized financial records.
The specialist will work with the finance team to resolve discrepancies, respond to vendor inquiries, support month-end close activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes. This position also collaborates with school administrators and staff to ensure adherence to budget guidelines and financial controls.
- Ability to manage and reconcile expense reports and support accurate reimbursement processes.
- Strong analytical skills to review financial data, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies.

Practical - experience in accounting, including preparing and posting journal entries (accounting).Proficien
- cy with accounting or ERP software and Microsoft Excel.

Effective - written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Associate - ’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Prior exp - erience in education or non-profit settings is beneficial.
