Description

Join Our Team! Derby Academy is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our Stay & Play after-school program for the  school year. This program provides a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students in Preschool through Grade 5 after the school day ends. If you enjoy working with children, building positive relationships, and creating fun, meaningful experiences, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage students during after-school care.
  • Foster a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child feels welcome.
  • Promote positive behavior through clear expectations and encouraging interactions.
  • Assist with snack time, transitions, and daily routines.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while following school policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and families when appropriate.
  • Help maintain organized and welcoming program spaces.
Schedule Typical Shifts Include
  • Monday-Thursday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Applicants may be available for some or all of these days.

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications. Range is $17.00 - $30.00 per hour.

All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.A. and must satisfactorily complete all background checks as required by Massachusetts law.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, recreation, or similar setting preferred.
  • High school students (16+), college students, education majors, and adults are encouraged to apply.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, reliability, and enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to actively participate in games and outdoor activities.
  • Successful completion of required background checks before employment.
