Under the supervision of the Fine Arts Director, the Srings Instructor will teach instrumental group lessons to third and fourth grade beginner violin, viola, and cello students and host a performance during the last lesson of each session to share student progress with families.

• Teach two 14 week semesters of 45 minute instrumental group lessons to third and fourth grade beginner violin, viola, and cello students.
• Host a performance during the last lesson of each 14 week session to share student progress with families.
• Supervise the arrival and dismissal of students.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children and be alert to the needs of the children as individuals and as a group.
• Responsible for all program communication with families of enrolled students.
• Communicate any changes to program scheduling due to illness, weather, or any other unanticipated reasons directly with families and the Kids in Action program director and staff on site.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and an ability to connect with students, parents, and all staff.
• Plan curriculum in accordance with standard beginner string pedagogy.
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Degree in Music or Music Education Preferred
• MA DESE License:
  Music:
  Vocal/Instrumental/General (all levels) Preferred

28 total weeks of lessons (2 - 14 week semesters); 1-9 hours per week inclusing supervision of arrival and dismissal of students and techer preparation time. Successful completion of background checks as required by federal and state law. Non-benefit eligible position.
