Job Summary
This position provides speech and language evaluations, consultation, and direct services to eligible students.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree, preferred
- DESE License of Speech Language and Hearing Disorders (All Levels) Required
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
- American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association Certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), Required
- Experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist in a school setting preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of child speech and language development
- Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Provide opportunities for the integration of technology into the classroom.
- Provide students with intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, and pragmatic language skills as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation.
- Assess students via formal and informal test measures and write formal reports.
- Participate in the development of a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Assist teachers and other special education staff in the development and implementation of curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation.
- Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners' needs.
- Provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families.
- Partner with families to create strong two way communication.
- Maintain appropriate records and provide timely reports.
- Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues to positively contribute to the school culture.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques for students with communication disorders.
- Responsible for other job-related duties as needed.
