Overview
Airgas is hiring for a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) in Hingham, MA. Shift Time: 2nd shift (1pm-9:30pm), Monday-Friday. Pay Rate: $23/hr comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. We offer a 14-week paid childbirth benefit, 401(k) with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Benefits start after 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities- Load and unload high-pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks in compliance with government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
- Inspect cylinders prior to filling according to required procedures.
- Understand hazards of gases, read cylinder labels, and interpret tank color-coding.
- Comply with government and company standards for safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
- Load cylinders on/off vehicles using a hand truck or chain hoist; record type and quantity of cylinders.
- Load/unload cylinders on/off pallets and ensure they are strapped in.
- Inspect returned cylinders for defects and perform minor maintenance and inspections prior to filling.
- Move cylinders to designated work areas using safe methods and equipment.
- Segregate out-of-test and defective cylinders; remove old labels and clean cylinders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school degree or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA rules, and related procedures applicable to this position.
- A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience. In lieu of specific industry experience, an equivalent education and experience combination may be accepted.
- Prior experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in all units of measure, including ratios and percentages.
