The Creative Arts Therapies program is an integral part of SSC’s mission to provide access to exceptional arts education and performance for the South Shore Community, fostering creativity, artistic growth, and well-being for individuals of all ages, background and ability. CAT is a critical component of SSC’s position as an arts leader on the South Shore, demonstrating a commitment to its mission and community service.
Aboutthe Position:
SSC’s Clinical Program Manager for Creative Arts Therapies is responsible for providing clear clinical oversight for the CAT program to offer supportive programming and services. This position will maintain a cohesive treatment philosophy, serve as a liaison to individual clients and community partners, and provide clinical consultation and training to all clinical faculty to ensure a high quality of service to clients.
This position also provides direct music therapy to clients.
Skills:
Music Therapy
- Provide person-centered music therapy groups and individual sessions onsite and in the community.
- Create measurable goals and treatment plans addressing client needs.
- Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary clinical team as required.
- Partner with Faculty and Staff to provide clinical consultation for different learning styles.
- Serve as the first point of contact for CAT inquiries related to 1:1 services and onsite groups.
- Conduct intake interviews with potential clients in order to accurately match students with therapists for trial sessions.
- Work closely with CAT faculty to schedule groups within the community.
- Compile all necessary billing information on a monthly basis in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with departments involved in the operations of CAT (i.e. Registration)
- Provide support throughout the onboarding process of new hires.
- Provide weekly group supervision to the CAT team.
- Observe and provide feedback related to CAT programming in the community.
- Directly supervise and manage music therapy practicum students and university interns.
- Participate in annual performance reviews.
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Music Therapy.
- Professionally credentialed (i.e. MT-BC).
- Minimum of 5 years professional clinical experience preferred as well as 1-2 years in a supervisory role in some capacity.

This job operates in an office and professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. On occasion the job will require going out in the field, visiting vendors.
Physical Demands:This is mostly sedentary outside of travel in an office space. This would require the ability to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:Designated days and schedule will be primarily Monday-Friday though will also be based on the needs of the operation and business, at times requiring weekends, nights and early mornings to support events.
Compensation and Travel:This is an hourly position. Administration hours are $35 an hour and all clinical work is $45 an hour. Travel is required 30% of the time and based on the needs of the operation and business.
