Certified Medical Assistant Bilingual

Responsibilities & Duties

Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for physical exam

Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients

Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner

Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure

Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing

Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions

Respond to all lab messages and call back requests

Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations

Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure

Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis

Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures

Maintain complete and accurate documentation

Cross-train and assist in other areas of the clinic as operational needs require such as a receptionist

CMA-Certified Medical Assistant Current certification by one the following approved certifying agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning CMA credential American Medical Technologists (AMT), earning RMA credential National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning NCMA credential National Health Care Association (NHA), earning CCMA credential

Weekday, Weekend and Holiday work availability

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and required to walk for long periods of time

Potential exposure to potentially infectious materials and chemicals

BLS/First Aid Certification (Preferred)

BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) is preferred
