The Clinical Charge Audit Analyst ensures accurate clinical documentation, coding, and billing for cardiovascular procedures within a hospital setting. They review medical records, procedural logs, and supply inventories to verify correct coding with ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS codes, supporting compliance and optimal reimbursement. The analyst collaborates with departments such as Compliance, RMD, HIM, and supply chain to build charge codes for new procedures, troubleshoot billing issues, and maintain clinical expertise in cardiovascular anatomy and procedures.
They educate physicians and staff on coding updates, monitor revenue reports, and assist in data collection for regulatory surveys. Additionally, they support Epic system data development, perform charge reconciliation, and train staff on procedures and coding practices. The role involves researching new technologies, ensuring seamless image and supply management, and participating in quality and compliance activities.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of acute care coding, billing, or charge capture experience
- At least 5 years of clinical interventional cardiovascular/EP, IR, or surgical experience
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and basic computer skills
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams
