A confidential, industry‑leading manufacturer in Paulding County is seeking a Purchasing & Materials Specialist who’s ready to take ownership of procurement, supplier performance, and material planning. You’ll be the connective force between suppliers, production, engineering, sales, and quality — ensuring materials flow, schedules stay on track, and customers get what they need on time.
What You’ll Own- Turn requisitions into purchase orders and secure confirmations with precision
- Align with Strategic Sourcing on commodity strategies and supplier selection
- Act as the primary supplier contact
, driving on‑time delivery and issue resolution - Monitor supplier performance and support corrective actions
- Track open orders, shipping notices, and expedite materials to prevent downtime
- Plan and coordinate materials to meet production and sales commitments
- Manage rush/short materials and evaluate the economic impact of schedule changes
- Maintain accurate SAP/MRP master data (lead times, safety stock, reorder points, vendor master, PIRs)
- Prepare materials reports for daily/weekly meetings and support KPI tracking
- Monitor inventory health, support cycle counts, and manage slow‑moving/obsolete materials
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and operational issues with Receiving, Quality, and Accounting
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes by ensuring supplier readiness
- Uphold company policies and Quality Management Standards
- Support purchasing for MRO, safety, janitorial, maintenance, and R&D
- Assist with cost‑savings and cost‑avoidance initiatives
- Maintain specialized compliance logs (e.g., lumber audits, CSP tracking)
- Partner with Sales to develop accurate customer delivery dates
- Help Manufacturing plan production schedules based on incoming materials
- Manage consignment inventory
, transfers, and consumption reporting - Update purchasing forecasts for selected suppliers

Associate’s degree with relevant experience considered - 2+ years in purchasing, buying, planning, or warehousing in manufacturing
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
- Experience maintaining MRP parameters and vendor master data
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions
- Working knowledge of manufacturing parts, products, and processes
- Regular standing, talking, hearing, and walking
- Occasional sitting, reaching, and handling materials
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs
- Visual requirements: close, distance, color, and focus adjustment
