• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care coordination.
• Provides relationship-based patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapts service delivery to reflect cultural diversity.
• Partners with patient and significant others using appropriate methods for shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and keeping patients’ goals central to the plan of care.
• Practices current clinical practice standards.

• Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes professional care delivery models, including interdisciplinary communication (rounds, case reviews), timely documentation, and respectful, inclusive clinical environments.
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing fiscally responsibly and promoting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
• Participates and supports performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.

• Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
• Serves as a preceptor or mentor for professional nurses, staff or students across disciplines to build a qualified workforce and model professional practice.

• Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including value analysis for decision‑making in patient care products.
• Upholds all organizational policies, procedures, accreditations, and regulatory requirements (TJC Patient Safety Goals, Wellstar Health Systems safety absolutes).
• Participates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions, consults experts, and uses appropriate resources to address practice questions.

• Proactively plans for patient care across the continuum during direct patient care.
• Participates in protocol and procedure development to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., decreased readmissions, avoidable days, adverse events).
• Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

• RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT - RN - Multi‑state Compact
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I - Basic Life Support - Instructor

Minimum 5 years completion of accredited/approved nursing school with required clinical hours; direct patient care experience preferred.
