Float Team:
Critical Care experience and willingness to float within Paulding.
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through Well Star Shared Governance. The framework for practice is steered by the Well Star Professional Practice Model, 5‑Star Nursing, evidence‑based practice and research.
Responsibilities- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking.
- Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that adapts to cultural diversity and individual needs.
- Partners with patient and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and keeps goals at the focus of care.
- Uses current clinical practice standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
- Promotes a respectful, inclusive clinical environment and responsible fiscal practices.
- Supports performance improvement and shared governance at all levels.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- Completes required competency assessments and ongoing education.
- Serves as preceptor or mentor for nurses and other disciplines.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research
- Promotes and participates in evidence‑based practice, research, and performance improvement.
- Upholds all health‑care system policies, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Resources and Support
- Plans patient care across the continuum during direct care.
- Participates in protocol development and quality initiatives to improve outcomes.
- Supports efficient use of human and material resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all Well Star Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years current direct patient care experience.
- English literacy.
- Basic computer skills and use of technology to support clinical care.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness and composure.
- Excellent time management.
- Evidence‑based and analytical nursing practice with strong critical‑thinking skills.
- Registered Nurse (Single State).
- RN – Multi‑state Compact.
- Basic Life Support.
- BLS – Instructor, BLS – Provisional.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- ACLS – Instructor, ACLS – Provisional.
