The Cost Accountant ensures the integrity of cost accounting information by planning, studying, and collecting manufacturing data to determine activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.

Responsibilities- Improve manufacturing costs and pricing processes, procedures, and standards
- Analyze and develop cost standards for materials and labor
- Analyze manufacturing wastes and identify ways to reduce inventory and proactively communicate findings to management
- Analyze inventory valuations and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
- Support the Revit transition and coordinate interaction between finance and manufacturing
- Scrutinize manufacturing cost variances and optimize profitability
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with monthly closing process; post journal entries and conduct reconciliations
- Review monthly results and implement variance reporting
- Investigate, propose, and spearhead process improvements related to manufacturing expenses
- Participate in and provide support in internal and external auditing and other activities as requested
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a public or private company
- Knowledge of manufacturing/accounting software and programs
- Highly detail‑oriented and organized
- Ability to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different employees
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
