The Quality Control
Lead - 2nd Shift supports the Supervisor in managing daily team operations, including training new employees and serving as the department’s Safety Champion. Performs assigned departmental tasks and helps uphold company quality standards by conducting measurements, inspections, tests, sampling, and final checks on assemblies and parts throughout the manufacturing process of Daifuku products and services. The role consists of approximately 85% shop-floor work and 15% desk-based tasks

Ideal Candidate:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship
  • Must be available to workon-site daily in Hobart, Indiana
  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:30pm)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability towork independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Acollaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assistsin managing team members’ work in completion of tasks
  • Works with manufacturing and other departments asrequiredto inspect,testand approve incoming raw materials and components from suppliers, fabricated components, manufactured components, finished parts andfinal assemblies.
  • Perform product/part sampling inspections to ensure they conform to standards and drawings.
  • Uses drawings, blueprints, engineering data, and other documentation todetermineacceptance criteria.
  • Reports and responds to nonconformances, planned deviations and corrective actions and other quality issues as needed.
  • Non-Conforming product / part management, containment activities, and MRB Inventory management.
  • Prepare andmaintaininspection and test data for analysis and review.
  • Maintain computer and handwritten paper records for assigned activities.
  • Utilize procedures, check lists, drawings, blueprints, and other work instructions.
  • Continued education and technical knowledge with training courses, cross training, and technical publications.
  • Accomplishes job duties in support of quality, environmental and safetygoalsandobjectives.
  • Assist with inputs to implementing corrective actions to non-conformitiesutilizingthe CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) or CA (Corrective Action) process.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2years minimum of Inspection, Quality Control, or related experience

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of quality control principles
  • Proficient in the use of measuring gauges, calipers, tape measures, squares, protractors, bore gages, thread gages, electrical test equipment, and other tools
  • Ability to perform math calculations, including fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, spatial orientation, dimensioning, and tolerances
  • Must be able to speak,readand understand the English language
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
  • Computer skills including MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good independent judgement and decision making abilities
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
