The Powder Coat Painter/Blaster applies powder coat paint to products using manual spray guns and an automated coating system, maintaining required paint thickness and ensuring high quality finishes. Work hours are Monday‑Friday 2:00 pm‑10:30 pm;
Saturdays may be required as needed.
- Coat manufactured parts with powder coat paint to meet customer and internal quality requirements.
- Inspect material from the fabrication shop.
- Operate all coating equipment, including manual spray guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems.
- Use the paint line efficiently with minimal stoppages and gaps.
- Comply with Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement to produce sustainable process outputs and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
Skills and Abilities
Requirements
- Understanding of powder paint characteristics, application, equipment operation and repair, and material preparation.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and self‑inspection techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and team oriented.
- Crane, forklift, or Big Joe operation experience preferred but not required.
- Medium work: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Climbing: ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles using feet, legs, hands, and arms.
- Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing: remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
- Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Grasping: applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
- Repetitive motions: making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Visual acuity: close visual acuity required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects, small parts, and operation of machines; use of measurement devices; and assembly or fabrication of parts at close distances.
- Enclosed environment with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Potential hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, work on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, and exposure to chemicals.
- Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
Hourly pay: $21.00 – $26.00
