Manufacturing Engineer

A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

Develops, evaluates, improves, and documents manufacturing processes

Develops and implements process control procedures

Analyzes manufacturing process flows continually to improve quality, cost reduction, and throughput

Working closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate and implement technical training for employees.

Helps Production with troubleshooting and resolving technical problems

Gathers and analyzes manufacturing metrics and works closely with the Quality and Manufacturing organizations to define appropriate process changes.

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage competing priorities & deliverables in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment.

Consults with vendors about product specifications, arranging equipment, purchasing parts and material, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications

Designs and develops manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, new products and related fixtures and tooling consistent with zero defect level and low product cost

Documents tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts

Designing, testing, and implementing production process improvements that will enable Daifuku to scale as a business, eliminating both bottlenecks and capacity limitations

Monitor quality data to drive improvement

Engage with the appropriate personnel in the identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues (Audit Actions, NCN's, CAPA's, etc.)

Lead continuous improvement and lean implementation to eliminate waste, reduce process variations and deliver products to customer's expectations- perform analysis

Working hands on and leading teams to drive operational profit through the implementation of larger and more complex waste reduction and throughput improvement projects

Ability to work with the database SQL and a data visualization software e.g. Power BI/Tableau to collect and communicate the critical data with the stakeholders

Data requirement gathering for IT related projects to increase the software efficiency and move the company towards paper free factory.

Works cross-functionally with different departments e.g. scheduling, planning, manufacturing, engineering and IT

Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques. (Understands and can apply Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to coordinate product changes

Qualifications

Bachelor's or foreign degree equivalent in engineering, or related field

Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, material handling preferred

Knowledge of manufacturing and Lean concepts

Ability to learn new technologies

Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Team-oriented and collaborative

Learning completely new skills and taking on new challenges

Proven ability to multitask

Ability to learn new software and machines US Travel is expected up to 20%

Understands and can apply Statistical Data Analysis

Understands and can apply DOE

Understands and can apply structured problem solving Lean Six Sigma certification, a plus
