Position: 1st Shift Maintenance Technician I (5:00am-1:30pm CST)

Position Summary

The 1st Shift Maintenance Technician I position performs a variety of maintenance activities within the office and manufacturing environment as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Ideal Candidate
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
  • Must be available to work 1st Shift on‑site daily in Hobart, Indiana including weekends/OT (5:00am-1:30pm CST)
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance while following OSHA and safety standards.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a safe, clean work environment are essential.
  • Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations, snow removal, and other maintenance‑related duties as needed.
Pay Rate

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Performs repairs in accordance with Safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Accurately complete and document work orders promptly in CMMS to maintain high‑quality standards.
  • Perform non‑technical maintenance of plumbing systems, including standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers.
  • Perform carpentry maintenance tasks including routine painting of interior and exterior finishes, stripping floors, installing signage, and assembling furniture and racking store systems.
  • Install new or purchased equipment.
  • Provide proper information for the acquisition of replacement parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair stationary and mobile equipment.
  • Train and participate in the Emergency Evacuation Plan.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities with department managers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist in inspections of critical building systems and environmental compliance.
  • Calibrate testing instruments.
  • Must be able to multi‑task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including the maintenance shop.
  • On call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary.
  • Perform snow removal as required.
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
  • 1 year facility maintenance or manufacturing experience.

Salary Information

Minimum Salary: $18.00 per hour

Maximum Salary: $25.00 per hour
