The 1st Shift Maintenance Technician I position performs a variety of maintenance activities within the office and manufacturing environment as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
• Must be available to work 1st Shift on-site daily in Hobart, Indiana including weekends/OT (5:00 am-1:30 pm CST)
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance while following OSHA and safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a safe, clean work environment are essential.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, snow removal, and other maintenance-related duties as needed.

$18.00-$25.00 per hour

• Performs repairs in accordance with Safety and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) requirements
• Accurately complete and document work orders promptly in CMMS to maintain high-quality standards
• Performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, including standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, and installing water coolers
• Performs carpentry maintenance tasks including routine painting of interior and exterior finishes, stripping floors, installing signage, and assembling furniture and racking storage systems
• Installs new or purchased equipment
• Provides proper information for the acquisition of replacement parts
• Troubleshoots and repairs stationary and mobile equipment
• Participates in the Emergency Evacuation Plan training and drills
• Coordinates and schedules maintenance activities with department managers
• Participates in continuous improvement projects
• Coordinates and assists in inspections of critical building systems and environmental compliance
• Calibrates testing instruments
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including maintenance shop
• On-call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary
• Performs snow removal, as required
• Carries out all other duties as assigned by Management

• High School Diploma or equivalent education required
• 1 year facility maintenance or manufacturing experience

• Knowledge of building systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems (preferred)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
