TSI is currently seeking FEMA Public Assistance (PA) Quality Control Specialist to support our disaster recovery team in Hermits Peak, NM. We're looking for QCs who can overcome challenges and complete projects in any environment. If you're someone who can take direction but doesn’t always need to be told what to do, then we want to hear from you.
QCs will work closely with FEMA PDMGs to provide supplemental disaster grant assistance for the repair, replacement, and restoration of disaster-damaged, public owned facilities. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: site damage inspections, cost estimate and scope of work development, exploratory calls and recovery scoping meetings, project reviews and validation, review and determination of hazard mitigation requirements, and environmental & historic preservation reviews and guidance.
This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DHS/FEMA Clearance.
- Must have 10 years of experience in a related field (with an Bachelor's degree) or 15 years of experience in a related field.
- Should be National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) certified
- Must have experience with cost adjustments.
- Should have experience with documentation review.
- Should have thorough knowledge of PA eligibility, law, regulations, and policies, and familiarity with other FEMA Programs (e.g., Individual Assistance, Hermit’s Peak Program, etc.).
- Should have experience utilizing Xactimate.
- Other recommended qualifications:
- Policy Interpretation: ability to understand complex insurance policy language, including exclusions, endorsements, and coverage limits;
- Damage Assessment:
Proficient in assessing property, flooding, and/or fire-related damage accurately, which involves understanding the extent of damage, the required repairs, required documentation, and the associated costs; - Clear and Effective Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge and ability to explain policy and regulations to claimants, FEMA Navigators, and other stakeholders; - Use of Technology:
Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and other technology tools that facilitate claim processing, documentation, and communication.
