Provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the College’s oil and gas workforce training programs. Develops and manages training programs, curriculum, facilities, equipment, industry partnerships, instructors, and customer relationships to provide high-quality, industry-responsive training to individuals and industry personnel. Identifies workforce needs and opportunities for program growth and ensures programs are aligned with industry demand, College goals, and sustainable operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and oversight for the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of oil and gas workforce training programs.
  • Develops, evaluates, and updates oil and gas training curriculum in collaboration with industry partners, subject matter experts, instructors, and advisory board members.
  • Identifies current and emerging workforce needs and develops new training programs and services based on industry demand, workforce needs, program quality, and sustainability.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with oil and gas companies, industry organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders to identify training needs, expand partnerships, and support program growth.
  • Recruits oil and gas companies to utilize and support New Mexico Junior College training programs and provides industry partners with program information, expertise, and support.
  • Leads advisory board development and engagement, including recruitment and retention of members, coordination of meetings, and collaboration with the advisory board to validate and regularly update program content, training needs, and outcomes.
  • Oversees the operation and development of oil and gas training facilities, including the planning, purchasing, installation, maintenance, and appropriate use of equipment and training resources.
  • Develops and manages the department budget and monitors expenditures, revenue, enrollment, and other measures of program performance.
  • Recruits, supervises, schedules, and evaluates assigned instructors and contract instructors; ensures appropriate qualifications, documentation, contracts, invoices, and other required personnel processes are completed.
  • Provides or coordinates professional development and industry training opportunities for instructors to ensure current technical knowledge, instructional quality, and industry relevance.
  • Ensures training programs, facilities, equipment, and instructional practices are operated in accordance with applicable College policies, industry standards, and safety requirements.
  • Assists with student recruitment, registration, retention, completion, and job placement by representing the College and program at on- and off-campus events and maintaining ongoing relationships with employers and prospective students.
  • Coordinates customized and contract training opportunities to meet industry workforce needs and support program growth.
  • Identifies and supports grant opportunities that may enhance and expand oil and gas workforce training programs.
  • Develops and implements strategies to recruit students and industry clients and promotes oil and gas training programs through community engagement, professional networking, and media opportunities.
  • Monitors and evaluates program outcomes, including enrollment, completion, revenue, industry engagement, employment outcomes, and other institutional or external reporting requirements.
