Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician in the Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division will perform physical maintenance tasks at solar energy sites near Hobbs, New Mexico. The role involves the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while maintaining safety and professionalism. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Hobbs.

• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility and sub‑station equipment.
• Document work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules.
• Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multimeters, megohms, amp clamps, and other test equipment.
• Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment, ensuring proper operation.
• Apply a strong safety background with experience in Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally in compliance with company policies and insurance requirements.

• 2+ years’ experience in commercial or industrial O&M on solar power plants.
• Experience with preventative maintenance of solar utility equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
• Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub‑station equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI).
• Initiative to escalated issues at site and ability to train and mentor laborers into apprentices.
• High aptitude and strong work ethic.

• Live within approximately 50 miles of Hobbs, New Mexico.
• Work outdoors in ambient temperatures and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Availability for weekend and holiday work, including on‑call service via phone or text.
• Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
• Compliance with OSHA standards and all applicable safety regulations.

$30.00–$42.00 per hour, DOE. Compensation may also include performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, a company vehicle, and per diem.
