Auxiliary Operator – Combined Cycle Power Plant

A clean energy power producer is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to support the safe and reliable operation of a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Control Room Operator, this role supports daily plant operations, water chemistry control, equipment monitoring, and maintenance activities.
This is a hands‑on role ideal for a mechanically inclined operator with power plant experience and a strong safety‑first mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the operation and monitoring of combined‑cycle plant equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and report plant and equipment status.
- Conduct water and gas chemistry analysis and maintain chemical systems.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance, including mechanical and basic electrical work.
- Assist with rotating equipment, water‑processing systems, and chemical handling/offloading.
- Support maintenance execution through LOTO, troubleshooting, and work preparation.
- Respond to abnormal conditions and assist with emergency operations.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and inventory usage.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in a power plant or industrial facility (combined‑cycle preferred).
- Familiarity with gas turbines, steam systems, and auxiliary plant equipment.
- Experience with water chemistry, water treatment, and chemical handling.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical or instrumentation knowledge.
- Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and operating procedures.
- Physically able to climb, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in PPE and hazardous environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate degree or technical training preferred.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and on‑call rotations.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction.
