Summary
The Production Manufacturing Manager supports the timely manufacturing of parenteral products in an aseptic environment according to Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). The Manager is responsible for all manufacturing activities during a shift for a sterile filling business unit and ensures compliance with regulations and procedures, maintains cGDP, and leads continuous improvement initiatives. The manager may oversee departments such as Glass Wash, Aseptic Filling and Capping, Lyophilization, Compounding, Equipment Preparation, Production Control, and Setup.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate all activities for the assigned shift.
- Compile shift information and line status data accurately and report to support groups and incoming shift management.
- Enforce compliance with cGMPs, site‑specific policies, and procedures.
- Represent the shift to internal support groups and assist the customer service representative with external customers.
- Maintain and report performance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and mentor direct reports; oversee succession planning and cross‑functional training.
- Ensure production schedule adherence and manage material consumption rates.
- Investigate and report safety incidents and quality deviations.
- Acquire fluency in all functional areas and share resources with other teams.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Read and interpret SOPs and maintain up‑to‑date training records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Science, Business, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or related industry.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience is preferred.
Lead and support a team, oversee day‑to‑day operations, manage departmental goals, and enforce adherence to policies. Foster a positive work environment and drive continuous improvement to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Language Skills- Read and interpret safety instructions, SOPs, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in arithmetic operations across various units; strong grasp of algebraic and geometric principles.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret technical instructions in text or diagram form and manage abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and manufacturing software.

- Regular sitting, standing, and reaching; occasional stooping, kneeling, twisting, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
- Visual acuity for close and distant tasks; hand and finger dexterity for typing, tool manipulation, and keypad operation.
- Office, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
- Manufacturing environment is sterile; requires aseptic gowning and PPE such as nitrile gloves, socks, face shields, safety glasses, aprons, steel‑toed shoes, and powered air purifying respirators.
- Exposure to wet or humid conditions, confined spaces, refrigerator or freezer temperatures, moving mechanical parts, electrical activities, and vibration.
- Potential exposure to compressed gases and need for ear protection.
